# Arboreal Range Hoods The 'Radix' Range Hood Design Reimagines Kitchen Appliances By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2016-01-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/range-hood-design References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2016/01/27/a-range-hood-like-youve-never-seen/) Offering both [purification qualities](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woop-air-purifier) with a design that's more sculptural and natural, the 'Radix' hood range design has a distinctly [arboreal influence](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roots-collection-1). Taking inspiration from a tree, the 'Radix' hood range encroaches over cooking surfaces to provide a more artistically appealing way to help disperse cooking heat and smells. Being that the kitchen is often labeled the heart of the home, consumers are taking a more enhanced approach to making the space look and feel as good as possible. Designed by Mostafa Arvand and Sepideh Golgoon, the 'Radix' hood range design helps to bring character and charm to a space that can sometimes inadvertently look clinical. With living spaces growing smaller, the 'Radix' helps to offer a touch of the natural world in the indoor space. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 55% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Arboreal Design:** There is an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the kitchen appliance industry by incorporating more natural-inspired designs. - **Sculptural Range Hoods:** There is an opportunity for disruptive innovation in kitchen range hood design by creating more aesthetically-pleasing, unique designs. - **Natural Purification:** There is an opportunity for disruptive innovation in air purifying technology by incorporating more natural elements in the design, like the 'Radix' hood range design. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Kitchen Appliance:** Manufacturers can explore new designs and incorporate more natural elements in kitchen appliances, like range hoods. - **Interiors and Home Decor:** Designers can use the 'Radix' hood range design as inspiration in creating more nature-inspired home decor. - **Air Purification:** The 'Radix' hood range design can be used as inspiration for air purifying technology that incorporates more natural elements in the design and function. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Moveable Kitchen Range Hoods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airhood.md) - [Storage-Equipped Extractor Hoods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/extractor-hood.md) - [Stealthy Functional Kitchen Hoods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mono-kitchen-hood.md) - [Connected Kitchen Range Hoods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ciarra-infinity.md) - [Anti-Pollution Kitchen Innovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taiwan-sakura.md) - [Next-Generation Range Hoods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/next-generation-range-hoods.md) - [Air-Purifying Kitchen Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fotile-freshbake-range.md) - [Space-Saving Range Hoods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oilvent.md) - [Mini Kitchen Cooking Purifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kokir-cooking-curifier.md)
