As though meant for pets or even used as a modern basket of some sort, people will be surprised to find that it emits light instead. Yet what will truly surprise them is the size and materials used to make the Raio T Lamp. Designed by Portuguese furniture design label Branca, the Raio T Lamp may appear to be made out of metals or even ceramics, but it's actually [crafted out of wood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wood-collection-1). Available in various shapes, it can [hang from the ceiling](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-bean) or rest on a flat surface. It's large size allows it to stand out bolding in any living space. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 60% | Activity: 15% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Contemporary Caged Lighting:** Exploring the emerging trend of contemporary lighting designs that resemble cages. - **Surprising Materials in Lighting:** A trend in using unexpected materials, like wood, in the production of lighting fixtures. - **Versatile Lighting Designs:** The rise in popularity of lighting fixtures that can be hung or placed on surfaces, offering flexibility in placement. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** Opportunity for furniture designers to incorporate unique lighting fixtures made with surprising materials. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation potential for interior designers to use contemporary caged lighting as a focal point in living spaces. - **Lighting Manufacturing:** Opportunity for lighting manufacturers to experiment with different materials and designs that reflect the trend of contemporary caged lighting. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Raw Minimalist Pine Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoop-table-lamp.md) - [Hanging Lantern-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woodo-table-lamp.md) - [Industrial Contemporary Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shop-light.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Whimsical Bird-Like Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiki-lamp.md) - [Sculptural Glass Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuloa.md) - [Organically Inspired Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tom-rossau1.md) - [Archetypal Conical Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragile-lamp.md) - [Ecological Dual Lampshade Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-light.md)
