# Ripple Effect Ice Trays Enjoy Your Drink with Ice Made from the Rainy Day Ice Tray By Mesel Isaac | Published 2014-07-27 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rainy-day-ice-tray References: [moddea](http://moddea.com/2014/07/09/rainy-day-ice-tray/) & [fredandfriends](http://fredandfriends.com/products/view/category/new/rainy-day-ice-tray) Feel like you're having a drink outside on a rainy day -- without having to endure the discomfort of being wet -- with ice cubes made from the Rainy Day ice tray. Designed by Tsunho Wang, the Rainy Day ice tray is colored baby blue, is made of food-safe silicone, and can make four Rainy Day ice cubes at a time. When the ice cube is placed in your drink it creates the enchanting illusion that a rain drop has fallen into your glass and is sending tiny ripples across the surface of your drink. While three of the molds in the Rainy Day ice tray share the same [ripple pattern](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ripples-collection), the fourth mold has an asymmetrical design, making it look as if a rain drop hit the side of the cup, rather than the center. Whether you’re having a drink on a hot summer’s day or a rainy autumn night, enjoy it with an ice cube from your Rainy Day ice tray. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 69% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Drinking](https://www.trendhunter.com/drinking) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Rainy Day Ice Cubes:** Create an enchanting illusion of raindrops and ripples in your drink with the Rainy Day ice tray. - **Food-safe Silicone:** Utilize food-safe silicone materials for innovative ice tray designs and other kitchen products. - **Illusionary Drinkware:** Tap into the market of drinkware that creates visually captivating illusions with innovative ice cube designs. ### Where This Applies - **Kitchenware:** Explore innovative materials and designs for kitchenware products like ice trays, leveraging trends like food-safe silicone and illusionary drinkware. - **Beverage:** Incorporate unique ice cube designs, such as the Rainy Day ice tray, to enhance the visual experience of beverages and differentiate product offerings. - **Home Decor:** Introduce visually engaging elements into home decor products, such as illusionary drinkware, to create a unique sensory experience for consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Eco-Friendly Ice Straw Molds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ice-straw.md) - [Cooling Beer Cubes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beercubes1.md) - [Rain-Inspired Glassware Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/syksy.md) - [Water Movement-Inspired Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ripple-light.md) - [At-Home Mixologist Ice Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sphere-ice-maker.md) - [Cuttting-Edge Sphere Ice Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sphere-ice-makers.md) - [Star-Shaped Ice Cubes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-shaped-ice-cubes.md) - [Efficient At-Home Ice Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/athome-ice-maker.md) - [Rainy Day-Inspired Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/candle-for-rainy-days.md)
