# Multicolored Psychedelic Truffles Rainbow Peppermint Patties Are a Way to Brighten Up Your Day By Nikki Taylor | Published 2012-12-14 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rainbow-peppermint-patties References: [taste-for-adventure.tablespoon](http://taste-for-adventure.tablespoon.com/2012/12/06/rainbow-peppermint-patties/) & [tablespoon](http://www.tablespoon.com/) The Rainbow Peppermint Patties are a ray of sunshine after a storm that will bring a smile to your face every time you bite into them. The colorful inside is made by separating the [peppermint-flavored dough](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peppermint-cocoa-cookie) into six sections. Each floured ball receives a food coloring or food gel bath, coating them in a skin of bright orange, blue, etc. Then, they are rolled into thin strips and pressed together. Dipping the conjoined colored dough into the [melted milk chocolate](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/treeshaped-chocolate-bites) is the best part of the dish. The [multicolored innards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neapolitan-ice-cream-sandwich) are concealed by a sweet shell of lip-smacking cocoa. To add a little more interest to the exterior of your Rainbow Peppermint Patties, sprinkle on a bit of icing sugar. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 84% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Vibrant Confectionery:** The trend of creating visually appealing and colorful confectionery products presents an opportunity for innovative packaging and marketing strategies. - **Personalized Treats:** The demand for customizable and unique treats such as rainbow peppermint patties opens doors for personalized manufacturing processes and niche markets. - **Interactive Desserts:** Interactive desserts, like the multicolored psychedelic truffles, offer an opportunity for restaurants and dessert shops to enhance the dining experience and engage customers through visually stimulating creations. ### Who This Affects Most - **Food Manufacturing:** Food manufacturers specializing in confectionery can capitalize on the trend of multicolored psychedelic truffles by developing innovative recipes and production techniques. - **Food Packaging:** The vibrant confectionery trend calls for creative and eye-catching packaging solutions to enhance the visual appeal of products on store shelves. - **Hospitality and Tourism:** Interactive desserts like rainbow peppermint patties can attract customers to cafes, bakeries, and hotels, creating unique and memorable experiences for visitors. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Multi-Layered Peppermint Cones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peppermint-sliced-creation.md) - [Peppermint Candy Patties](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peppermint-zebra-patties.md) - [Confetti Cake Candy Canes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/funfetti-candy-canes.md) - [Tart Multi-Colored Easter Candies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamb-sour-rainbows-candy-cube.md) - [Minty Marshmallow Truffles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peppermint-fluffle.md) - [Colorful Paddy's Day Shakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/under-the-rainbow-shake.md) - [Colorful Premium Popcorn Snacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/popcorn-kitchen-rainbow-sweet-salt.md) - [Multi-Colored Chocolate Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multicolored-chocolate-bars.md) - [Minty Cocoa Truffles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minty-flavored-cocoa-truffles.md)
