# Raindrop-Revelling Statues Rain by Nazar Bilyk Captures a Man Surrendering to a Moment By Meghan Young | Published 2013-01-08 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rain-by-nazar-bilyk References: [fubiz.net](http://www.fubiz.net/en/2013/01/06/rain-sculpting/) & [bilyknazar](http://bilyknazar.com/) Visually striking in a poetic and even philosophical way, Rain by Nazar Bilyk, an artist based in Kiev, Ukraine, is a sculpture that revels in a natural occurrence. Subtly surreal, the raindrop interacting with this statue is oversized, hiding the face of the man completely despite its translucent material. A poignant piece, the sculpture encourages onlookers to connect with it on an emotional level while also reflecting on its meaning. Measuring 1,87 meters in height, Rain by Nazar Bilyk may not be compelling in terms of size, but the man depicted might has well have the stature of a giant. Completely captivating, the raised face and almost slouching stance captures one who has surrendered to a moment in order to enjoy it to its absolute fullest. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.7/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Surrendering to a Moment:** Opportunities to create immersive experiences that encourage emotional connection and reflection. - **Visually Striking:** Potential for creating visually captivating sculptures and artwork that captures attention. - **Subtly Surreal:** Innovation in using unconventional materials and techniques to create thought-provoking and poetic art pieces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Sculpture:** Disruptive potential for artists to explore new mediums and techniques to create unique and immersive experiences. - **Tourism and Travel:** Opportunity to attract visitors through the installation of visually striking sculptures and art pieces in public spaces. - **Emotional Wellness and Therapy:** Potential for using surrealist art installations as a means of promoting emotional reflection and well-being. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Umbrella-Resembling Playful Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rain-man-lamp.md) - [Lightning-Inspired Artful Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bright-light-shining.md) - [Artful Sculptural Umbrella Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inbetween-umbrella.md) - [Mesmerizing Fluid Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flow-fountain.md) - [Rainwater Multifunctional Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/raindrop-1.md) - [Reflective Public Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flowers-and-butterflies-are-dancing.md) - [Contemporary Statue Album Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drip-season-4.md) - [Resin Gravity Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-great-tree.md) - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md)
