'Raheem' is a nonprofit NGO based in Oakland, California. Originally founded in 2017 as a means of [reporting police officers online](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-reporting) who needed to be held accountable, Raheem has evolved in 2021 to become an online community safety-focused alternative to police services.

The startup application partners with registered organizations, community organizations, crisis teams, and abolitionists to build a United States-wide network of response operators. The key differential between these Raheem operators and police is that Raheem aims to provide individuals in a crisis with care instead of force and potential violence.

Raheem is run by a team of mostly [Black and Brown](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/she-matters-app) POCs who are experts in policy, research, and data science. With this expertise, the app intends on creating a more positive society through change and reform.
