# Smart Home Thermostats Aqara Launches Its HomeKit-Compatible 'Radiator Thermostat E1' By Niko Pajkovic | Published 2022-09-13 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/radiator-thermostat-e1 References: [appleinsider](https://appleinsider.com/articles/22/09/13/aqara-launches-homekit-compatible-smart-radiator-thermostat?utm_medium=rss) & [aqara](https://www.aqara.com/en/) Smart home electronics brand Aqara has announced the launch of a new radiator thermostat called the 'Radiator Thermostat E1.' The new device is compatible with Aqara's signature [HomeKit](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eve-thermo) product as well as other major smart home systems, including [Amazon](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/honeywell) Alexa, [Google Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/th1123wf), and IFTTT. The new device works to automate hydronic radiators, which receive temperature signals from outside the thermostat rather than internally. This makes the 'Radiator Thermostat E1' unlike other smart thermostats that are currently on the market, as most models use internal sensors to regulate household temperatures. In addition, the unit can be tied to Aqara Door and Window Sensor; if a door or window is left open, the Radiator Thermostat E1 can automatically turn off the heat.
