Designed by Zhiyuan (Frank) Fang, the chair is characterized by its [wooden construction](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tanuvi-hegde) that includes a [coat hanger section](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rak) in the rear, a supportive backrest, [slatted seat section](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/same-same) and a storage tray in the base. The various aspects of the chair are achieved using different woods that combine to create a stylish furniture piece perfect for environments with high turnover like a fast food restaurant. The RACK Chair design works cleverly as a way to keep diners supported when eating, while also eliminating the need for them to place personal items on the floor for a cleaner, more organized experience. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 70% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 19% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Multifunctional Furniture:** The RACK Chair design by Zhiyuan Fang combines various features, including coat hanger, backrest, slatted seat, and storage tray, to create a stylish and versatile furniture piece. - **Improved Dining Experience:** The RACK Chair design provides a cleaner and more organized dining experience by eliminating the need for diners to place personal items on the floor. - **Efficient Space Utilization:** The RACK Chair design integrates storage capabilities in its base, making it ideal for environments with high turnover like fast food restaurants. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The RACK Chair design presents opportunities for furniture manufacturers to create more multifunctional and space-saving furniture pieces. - **Hospitality and Food Service:** The RACK Chair design offers a solution to improve the dining experience in various establishments, especially fast food restaurants. - **Interior Design:** The RACK Chair design opens up possibilities for interior designers to incorporate multifunctional furniture concepts into restaurant spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Storage-Attached Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grid-chair.md) - [Antitheft Storage Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/afford-chair.md) - [Stackable Screw-Free Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-stack-chair.md) - [Posh Pet-Friendly Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arch-chair-design.md) - [Storage-Friendly Origami Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-kerf.md) - [Chinese Character-Shaped Coat Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/resting-coat-rack.md) - [Open-Concept Clothing Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bauhutte-clothes-hanger-rack.md) - [Nostalgic Bistro-Style Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aroma-chair.md) - [Tripod-Like Garment Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multifunctional-coat-rack.md)
