From the Thermos brand comes the R2D2 Lunch Kit, which brings sci-fi fun during meal time. The design reflects the [Star Wars droid](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/g1t4m1n1-droid) in every way, from color to looks. The interior is made with closed cell polyethylene foam insulation, which helps keep food fresh so you have a tasty lunch every time. The best part? There's actually a push button that activates sound effects and lights for your geeky pleasure. It's lightweight, soft, easy to carry and carries out its duties properly. It'd be even cooler if a lunch-themed C3P0 was available as its companion. For now, however, I'd say this lunch kit will be enough for [Star Wars fanatics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cocacola-x-star-wars). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 12% | Activity: 41% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Sci-fi Meal Kits:** The R2D2 Lunch Kit is an example of a sci-fi themed meal kit that brings fun and excitement to mealtime. - **Closed Cell Insulation:** The use of closed cell polyethylene foam insulation in the R2D2 Lunch Kit showcases the trend of insulation technology in food packaging. - **Geeky Sound Effects and Lights:** The inclusion of a push button that activates sound effects and lights in the R2D2 Lunch Kit highlights the trend of incorporating interactive features into meal accessories. ### Where This Applies - **Food Packaging:** The R2D2 Lunch Kit demonstrates how the food packaging industry can adopt sci-fi themes to create engaging and unique packaging solutions. - **Insulation Technology:** The closed cell polyethylene foam insulation used in the R2D2 Lunch Kit presents opportunities for innovation and advancement in insulation technology within the food industry. - **Meal Accessories:** The R2D2 Lunch Kit showcases the potential for meal accessory manufacturers to incorporate interactive features, like sound effects and lights, to enhance the consumer experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Double-Walled Lunch Carriers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insulated-lunch-box.md) - [Sci-Fi-Branded Special-Edition Earbuds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/audio-technica-r2-d2.md) - [Branded Electric Lunch Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crockpot-go.md) - [Sci-Fi Series Tech Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casetify-star-wars-day.md) - [Playful Freezable Lunch Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playtime-lunch-box.md) - [Galactic Robot-Inspired Puzzle Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-r2d2.md) - [Contactless Lunch Delivery Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunchbox-delivery-robot.md) - [Real Life Cinematic Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/g1t4m1n1-droid.md) - [Scheduled Self-Heating Lunchboxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunchgo.md)
