# Sturdy Footstool Stilts Quirky Risers Assist in Elevating You for Hard-to-Reach Jobs By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-08-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quirky-risers References: [quirky](http://www.quirky.com/products/279-Risers-work-boost) As a person who falls within a category of vertically challenged individuals, I can see the value in these Quirky Risers. They're not the sorts of [leg extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/8inch-flipflops) you might choose to don in everyday life but they would prove remarkably useful in more efficiently accomplishing tasks around the house. At over 37 centimeters in height, this stout set of stilts gives you a significant vertical advantage for reaching light fixtures, crown molding, cobwebs and [overhead cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikeas-bsingen-collection). The pair of them can help you clean, paint and organize your home, all the while enabling you to keep agile footing with your shoes or socks strapped into one [footstool](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loki-stool) each. They may appear to be inconveniently bulky but, where it concerns storage, the Quirky Risers can be stacked one inside the other, filled with items and stowed away. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 21% | Activity: 16% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Stout Stilts:** Developing more compact and lightweight stilts for greater usability and convenience in various industries. - **Vertical Advantage:** Exploring innovative solutions for reaching high-up areas in different sectors, such as cleaning, painting, and organizing. - **Efficient Task Accomplishment:** Creating tools or devices that enhance productivity and efficiency by enabling users to easily access hard-to-reach places. ### Where This Applies - **Construction:** Disruptive opportunity: Designing sturdier and more portable stilts for construction workers to optimize their reach and make tasks easier to accomplish. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive opportunity: Developing innovative tools or equipment that assist interior designers in conveniently accessing elevated areas for decorations or installations. - **Home Improvement:** Disruptive opportunity: Creating versatile yet space-saving footstool stilts for homeowners, enabling them to easily perform various tasks at higher levels without the need for ladders or stepping stools. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ball-Topped Office Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gaiam-highrise-balance-ball-stool.md) - [Bamboo-Made Multi-Functional Footrests](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multifunctional-footrests.md) - [Extra-Tall Tablet Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twelve-south-hoverbar-tower.md) - [Sturdy Bathroom Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/medical-stepping-foot-stool.md) - [Kids Modern Step Stool](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/totto-step.md) - [Elevated Leisure Habitats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elevated-leisure-habitat.md) - [Folding Maintenance Lift Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jlg-liftpod.md) - [Sleek Minimal Space-Saving Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/altura.md) - [Ergonomic Multi-Position Laptop Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smartview-organizing-laptop-riser.md)
