The end result is a breathtaking quilt that looks beautiful either as a bedspread or hanging wall piece. To make this technicolor quilt begin by cutting out pieces of [colorful fabric](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tekla-evelina-severin-and-layered) into the shape of hexagons. Remember to use fabrics from all shades of the rainbow. Ideally you should have 12 different colored hexagons that can be stacked in a triangle to replicate the look of a [painter's color wheel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colormix). Once all the hexagons are cut arrange the red, yellow and blue hexagons in the middle and place the rest of the hexagons around them to create a gradient effect. Replicate the color wheel several times to continue a rainbow pattern. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 53% | Activity: 48% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Rainbow Hexagon Crafts:** The trend of using colorful hexagons in various creative projects like quilting or home decor. - **DIY Fabric Art:** The trend of creating own custom fabric art pieces that reflect individual creativity and style. - **Color Palette Inspirations:** The trend of exploring different color combinations and color pattern inspirations for various crafts and designs. ### Who This Affects Most - **Arts and Crafts Retailers:** Retailers in the arts and crafts industry can provide fabric and supplies necessary for creating these stunning rainbow hexagon quilts. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate handmade rainbow hexagon quilts as a unique and colorful addition to their clients' homes. - **DIY and Creative Blogs:** Blogs and content creators can share tutorials and ideas for incorporating rainbow hexagons into a range of DIY projects and crafts. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Customizable Hexagonal Desk Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cololight-plus-hexagon-light-kit.md) - [Color Coding Daily Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hexcodle.md) - [Color Blind Tapestries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chromarama.md) - [Geometric Wood Flooring](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-kaleidoscope-collection.md) - [Chromatic Natural Landscape Blankets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rumpl-retro-elements-blankets.md) - [Abstract Geometric Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/discorectangle.md) - [Math-Inspired Colorful Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/weave-collection.md) - [Chromatic Ombre Stoneware Ranges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/le-creuset-rainbow-mug-set.md) - [Playful Crochet Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crochet-collection.md)
