# Origami Bike Fenders Full Windsor's Quickfix Mudguard Clips On and Off With Ease By Meghan Young | Published 2011-11-01 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quickfix-mudguard References: [ohgizmo](http://www.ohgizmo.com/2011/10/28/quickfix-emergency-bicycle-fender-looks-handy) & [full-windsor](http://www.full-windsor.com/) As helpful as traditional bike fenders are, they can still be much easier to use; the Quickfix Mudguard features a minor tweak that improves it immensely. Instead of the classic rounded shape, or even a stiff-like tail, the Quickfix Mudguard is inspired by the [origami art form](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-cup). This shape, working in tandem with the bike frame itself, gives this mudguard a much more rigid form, allowing it to protect the rider from flying raindrops and dirt even more. Created by [Full Windsor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/full-windsor-magware-magnetic-bowls-and-plates), a London-based bicycle accessories design company, the Quickfix Mudguard not only clips on and off easily, it also folds flat for easy storage. Thus, a rider who hates the more permanent bike fender options out there can now benefit from a convenient temporary one. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 67% | Activity: 52% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Sports](https://www.trendhunter.com/sports) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Origami-inspired Bike Accessories:** There is an opportunity for companies to develop other origami-inspired bike accessories that are convenient and easy to use. - **Foldable Bike Fenders:** There is an opportunity to create foldable bike fenders for riders who prefer removable options for their bikes. - **Rigid Bike Fenders:** There is an opportunity to create more rigid bike fenders that provide better protection for riders. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Bicycle Accessories:** Bicycle accessory companies can incorporate origami-inspired designs and foldable options into their products. - **Outdoor Gear:** Companies that specialize in outdoor gear can expand their product lines to include foldable bike fenders. - **Eco-friendly Transportation:** Companies that promote eco-friendly transportation can market rigid bike fenders as a sustainable option for protecting riders from elements while commuting on bikes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Adventurous Folding Bike Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flatbike-change-adventure.md) - [Wheel-Wedging Folding Bicycles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wheel-wedging-folding-bicycle.md) - [Foldable Light-Integrated Bike Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fend-super-bike-helmet.md) - [Collapsible Belt-Driven Commuter Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/priority-folder.md) - [Flatpack Cyclist Safety Equipment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-helmet-concept.md) - [Consummately Customizable Commuter Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customizable-commuter-bike.md) - [Collapsible Ultra-Secure Bike Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-lock.md) - [Handlebar Bike Gear Clips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gear-clip.md) - [Origami-Style Cyclist Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/raba-helmet.md)
