# Privacy-Focused Cottage Designs Naturehumaine Tackles a Quebec Ski Cottage By Kalin Ned | Published 2022-04-08 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quebec-ski-cottage References: [dezeen](https://www.dezeen.com/2022/04/04/naturehumaine-la-breche-ski-cottage-quebec/) Montreal-based architecture firm [Naturehumaine's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-cime) work on a Quebec ski cottage answers the client's needs while highlighting a subtle, timeless aesthetic. The building is split into two. The structures create a narrow passageway that "marks the entrance to the home and provides privacy to a detached guest suite and atelier." This slightly dramatic feature also raises some curiosity. Titled 'La Brèche' (roughly translated to 'The Fault'), both volumes of the Quebec ski cottage are equipped with metal roofs and have a slightly rustic vibe. Naturehumaine also included a big corner window in the main living space which unveils breathtaking looks. The architects were inspired by "the [vernacular constructions of the area](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/des-lauriers-house), a region of Quebec known as the Eastern Townships."
