Users will be able to control music and video playback, PowerPoint slides and more, with their hand gestures. According to Laptop Magazine, “The webcam senses your movement from 3 to 10 feet away and the Quad Core HD processor interprets your hand motions in real time. It should be noted that stopping/resuming video requires you to have a flexible wrist as you have to raise an open palm to the screen in a 'stop in the name of love' position.” Set to go on sale next month for $1,549, Qosmio G55 has got 'the looks' with a combination of a slick black chassis, LED illumination, and metal highlights. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 91% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/computers) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Gesture Control:** The Toshiba Qosmio G55 introduces gesture control for music, video playback, and PowerPoint slides. - **Quad Core HD Processor:** The dedicated Quad Core HD Processor enables fast video encoding and real-time interpretation of hand motions. - **Desktop Replacement:** The 18.4-inch Qosmio G55 serves as a powerful desktop replacement with its large screen and advanced features. ### Where This Applies - **Electronics:** The gesture control technology in the Toshiba Qosmio G55 opens up disruptive innovation opportunities in the electronics industry. - **Gaming:** The Quad Core HD Processor in the Qosmio G55 can revolutionize the gaming industry with its fast video encoding capabilities and real-time hand motion interpretation. - **Presentation Software:** The gesture control feature of the Qosmio G55 provides disruptive innovation opportunities for the presentation software industry, allowing for more interactive and engaging presentations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dedicated Spatial Computing Laptops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacetop-g1.md) - [Desktop-Grade Laptops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hp-zbook-fury-g1i-18inch.md) - [Trailblazing 4K Gaming Laptops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/4k-gaming-laptop.md) - [Glasses-Free 3D Laptops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3d-laptop.md) - [Ultra High-End Laptop Specs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ultima-18.md) - [Bendable Display Laptop Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hp-spectre-fold.md) - [Creative Dual-Display Laptops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/topton-l10.md) - [Premium Dual-Screen Laptops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rog-zephyrus-duo-16.md) - [3D-Emulating Laptop Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aspire-3d-15-spatiallabs.md)
