Instead of using the [traditional number dial system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a158w) that we are taught to use in elementary school (although some of us never did get the hang of it), QlockTwo uses [words to display the current time](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arrowatch). Designed by Biegert & Funk, the QlockTwo Clock display features a variety of words and highlights words to make phrases such as “It is five past nine” and "It’s half past twelve." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.0/10 - Popularity: 3% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Word-based Time Display:** Disruptive innovation opportunities lie in developing new word-based time display technologies that offer a unique and engaging way to tell time. - **Alternative Time Presentation:** Disruptive innovation opportunities exist in creating alternative ways to present time, moving away from traditional number dials and exploring innovative visual and textual representations. - **Interactive Timepieces:** Disruptive innovation opportunities lie in designing interactive timepieces that engage users and enhance their time-telling experience through unique and intuitive interfaces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Tech Gadgets:** Disruptive innovation opportunities exist in the tech gadget industry to develop novel time display devices that cater to the growing demand for unique and unconventional time-telling methods. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunities lie in the home decor industry to create unique and visually appealing word-based timepieces that serve as a functional and decorative element in homes and spaces. - **Education Products:** Disruptive innovation opportunities exist in the education products industry to develop educational timepieces that help children and adults learn to tell time using words, enhancing their understanding and engagement. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Alternative Time Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dozen-clock.md) - [Concentric Timezone Wall Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/analog-wall-clock.md) - [Calm Reading Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/novellamate.md) - [Kinetic Pattern Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moir-clock.md) - [Unique Timekeeping Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unique-timekeeping-device.md) - [Flowing Light Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crydal-scroll-clock.md) - [Elegant Linear Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-clockworks.md) - [Mechanical Digital Mesmerizing Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/triaxial-numechron-clock.md) - [Tubular Illuminating Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacetime-blade.md)
