# Industrial Middle-Eastern Photography Leed Mawdsley's Qatar Photos Beautifully Depict Urban Life By | Published 2013-05-20 | World Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qatar-photos References: [itsnicethat](http://www.itsnicethat.com/articles/lee-mawdsley-1) & [leemawdsley](http://www.leemawdsley.co.uk/index.php?/projects-1/cbq/) Photographer Lee Mawdsley's recent [Qatar photos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bodxl) are wonderfully representative of urban life. Mawdsley was sent by the Commercial Bank of Qatar to capture the building's [mixture of modern and traditional architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ajman-rulers-court) but returned with much more than that. Each of his photos encapsulates the rapid development of the area while hinting at the wealth that permeates that part of the world. The city's cleanliness and straightforwardness are extremely striking, and captured perfectly by Mawdsley's [bird's-eye shots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/still-life-1) of intersections and highways scattered throughout Qatar. The white architecture inherent to Qatar is stunning in Mawdsley's photographs, standing out against the bleak pavement and pale blue skies. This architecture is also very angular and geometric, but low to the ground; few skyscrapers can be seen in photos of Qatar's skyline. With these photos, Lee Mawdsley has proven that photographers such as him are necessary to the promotion of areas that might not be as well-known in other parts of the world; photographers like Mawdsley open up the world to anyone willing to explore. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 71% | Activity: 44% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [World](https://www.trendhunter.com/world) > [Travel](https://www.trendhunter.com/travel) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Middle-eastern Urban Development:** Photographer Lee Mawdsley’s photos of Qatar hints at the wealth and development in this part of the world, creating an opportunity for companies in the construction and real estate industry to explore new growth in the Middle-Eastern market. - **Bird’s-eye View Photography:** Lee Mawdsley’s bird’s-eye photos of Qatar’s intersections and highways, showcase the rapid urban development in Qatar, creating opportunities for drone companies and aerial photography services to provide innovative ways of capturing urban development and growth. - **Promoting Undiscovered Places Through Photography:** Lee Mawdsley’s photos of Qatar are creating a unique way of promoting unknown destinations and territories, creating an opportunity for the tourism and hospitality industry to invest and promote a new destination in the Middle-East. ### Where This Applies - **Construction:** The photos of Qatar’s urban development captured by Lee Mawdsley provide a unique opportunity for construction companies to explore suitable and profitable growth opportunities in the Middle-Eastern market. - **Real Estate:** Lee Mawdsley’s bird’s-eye photos of Qatar’s urban life that showcases traditional and modern architecture provide a unique selling point for real estate developers and agents seeking new ways of promoting their properties in the Middle-East. - **Tourism and Hospitality:** Lee Mawdsley’s photos of Qatar are creating a unique way of promoting the unknown destinations and territories, creating a new opportunity and investment potential for the tourism and hospitality industry in the Middle-East market. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Landmark-Inspired Sleek Playgrounds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doha-modern-playground.md) - [Desert Reflective Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shadow-travelling.md) - [Regional Travel Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wego-and-visit-qatar.md) - [Photograph-Centric Museums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/photography-seoul-museum-of-art.md) - [British Youth-Culture Photography Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-and-away.md) - [Traditional Sailing-Inspired Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/from-the-coastline-we-progress.md) - [AI-Powered Portrait Studios](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-powered-portrait-studio.md) - [Qatar 3d-Printed Building Plans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bodxl.md) - [Classically Designed Geometric Mosques](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mamluki-lancet-mosque.md)
