[Montreal-based design firm](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/residence-ave-duchastel) Ménard Dworkind has just completed the Q8 Residence, which is defined by its blocky structure. The space is wrapped in a [cedar material](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-house-on-a-hill), and the purpose is to immerse residents into the calmness of the forest in Quebec. It is comprised of a range of staggering structures that are differentiated by various exterior cladding materials in a stacked form.

The co-founder of Ménard Dworkind, David Dworkind speaks to Dezeen about the project, noting "A major focus on orientation and choosing where to maximise and minimise glazing as well as a careful material selection and strategic spatial arrangements helps the home foster this strong connection to nature while providing a warm, open, and functional living environment."
