# Reptilian Body Massages You Can Now Officially Get a Python Massage in the Philippines By Michael Baxter | Published 2014-05-28 | Unique Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/python-massage References: [geekologie](http://geekologie.com/2014/05/philippines-zoo-offers-a-four-20-foot-py.php) & [incrediblethings](http://www.incrediblethings.com/pets/aw-hell-to-the-no-zoo-offers-massages-by-4-snakes/) If you're squeamish about reptiles, you may want to stay as far from the Philippines as possible, as the country now offers python massages. As crazy as this sounds, you can now forgo getting your [back rubbed by a trained professional](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-now-massage) in favor of a slimier and more natural approach -- an approach fraught with snakes. The one thing most people know about [pythons](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/king-cobra-by-zoologist) (other than the fact that they're frighteningly large and intimidating) is that when they get a grip on a person, they don't let go. Maybe in a traditional sense this would be a bad thing, but apparently in the [spa world](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pizza-spa), that kung-fu grip is just the thing to relax a person. It should be noted that this is happening at a zoo and not an actual spa, so buyers beware. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 47% | Activity: 95% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Bizarre](https://www.trendhunter.com/bizarre) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Reptile-assisted Therapies:** Exploring the use of reptiles in alternative therapy settings, such as python massages, to provide unique and unconventional relaxation experiences. - **Animal-inspired Wellness:** Leveraging animal interactions for wellness purposes, which may involve snakes or other creatures to promote relaxation and stress relief. - **Natural and Unconventional Massage Techniques:** Embracing non-traditional massage approaches, like python massages, that offer a different sensory experience and challenge conventional notions of relaxation. ### Where This Applies - **Wellness and Spa Services:** Incorporating reptile-assisted therapies into the wellness industry, providing customers with new and exciting relaxation options. - **Zoos and Animal Encounters:** Exploring opportunities for zoos to diversify their offerings by including unique spa-like experiences involving reptiles. - **Alternative and Complementary Therapies:** Integrating unconventional massage techniques, such as python massages, into the field of alternative therapies to meet the growing demand for innovative wellness solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [AI-Powered Bedside Massage Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/massager-robot.md) - [Personalilzed Robotic Massages](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robotic-massages.md) - [Luxury Filipino Wellness Resorts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seda-lio-hotel-philippines.md) - [Snake-Inspired Pizza Dishes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snake-ring-pizza.md) - [Scotland-Themed Spa Treatments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hot-stone-massage.md) - [Back-Targeting Massage Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/massage-robot.md) - [Swamp Bathing Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/book-a-swamp.md) - [Temp-Controlled Back Massagers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-back-dragon.md) - [Snake-Inspired Textural Clogs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tokio-cazador.md)
