# Truncated Cabin Concepts PV Cabin Looks as Though Its Been Sliced Off By Joey Haar | Published 2018-02-21 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pv-cabin References: [archdaily](https://www.archdaily.com/889106/refugio-pv-lorena-troncoso-valencia) Cabins often employ a familiar shape thanks to that form's simplicity, but PV Cabin manages to add deft complexity to that design. The [remote cabin in Pinto, Chile](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-three-heights), has a similar shape to rudimentary cabins, with a [gabled roof and pine wood facade](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cross-cabin), but the building has a unique design that looks as though a third of the siding has been lopped off, giving it an appealing degree of asymmetry. On the interior, PV Cabin is relatively minimal. Considering that it's located amid a rich system of hiking trails and natural beauty, the residents are unlikely to spend that much time inside at all. As such, Lorena Troncoso-Valencia, the architect behind the project, design PV Cabin to conserve space, with a [lofted bedroom area](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-nest-cabin) and a hybrid kitchen/living area.
