# Pastel Prismic Lights The Put Baby in the Corner Lamp is a Sweet and Unassuming Fixture By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-01-09 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/put-baby-in-the-corner-lamp References: [designspotter](http://www.designspotter.com/product/2014/01/put-baby-in-the-corner.html) & [scharpinc](http://www.scharpinc.com/putbabyinthecorner.html) The Put Baby in the Corner lamp is a delight to the eyes, yet its purpose is not to overpower a room. Naturally, the [light fixture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-lebow-table-lamp) already attracts attention with the bright beams that it emits, so the designer softened up its presence with a unique treatment to its color, its form and a suggestion for modest installation. You may choose to sit the [pyramidal desk lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/juba-tl1-table-lamp) in the middle of a table; however, Clara Scharping composed it geometrically to afford the option of tucking it into the niche where the walls and tabletop meet. An irregularly shaped cover can be applied to the front of the [angular illuminator](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polyshape), blocking the direct rays from the lightbulb inside. The Put Baby in the Corner lamp may not end up front and center in your office or your bedroom, but it's certainly a pretty sight wherever it sits. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 62% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Minimalist Lighting:** The Put Baby in the Corner lamp showcases the trend of minimalist lighting by providing a simple and understated design. - **Geometric Forms:** Clara Scharping's lamp highlights the trend of incorporating geometric forms into design, adding a unique visual element to the fixture. - **Modular Lighting:** The option to apply an irregularly shaped cover to the lamp demonstrates the trend of modular lighting, allowing users to customize the light output and appearance. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** The Put Baby in the Corner lamp presents disruptive innovation opportunities in the interior design industry by offering a unique and versatile lighting solution. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The lamp's geometric and modular design opens up opportunities for furniture manufacturers to create complementary pieces that integrate with the lamp's aesthetic. - **Home Decor Retail:** Retailers in the home decor industry can tap into the trend of minimalist and geometric lighting by stocking and promoting lamps like Put Baby in the Corner. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Space-Saving Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacesaving-desk-lamp.md) - [Geometric Nostalgic Night Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handmaid-table-lamp.md) - [Retro-Tinged Compact Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lari-mini.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Geometric Industrial Desktop Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-lamp.md) - [Minimal Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/takeout-lamp.md) - [Portable Cubic Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/romb-mini-lamp.md) - [Colorful Geometric Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spot-on-desk.md) - [Illusory Multidimensional Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drop-light.md)
