# Floral Canine Sculptures Puppy by Jeff Koons is a Huge Live-Plant Creation By Meghan Young | Published 2012-04-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/puppy-by-jeff-koons References: [inspire.2ia.pl](http://inspire.2ia.pl/post/20464950874/flower-puppy-by-jeff-koons) & [jeffkoons](http://www.jeffkoons.com/) Puppy by Jeff Koons is a [giant floral sculpture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/structural-botany) of a puppy, which the title obviously gives away. Adorably whimsical, this [art installation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playful-sculptures) rivals the lovable nature of Clifford the Big Red Dog. Instead of simply roaming around the imaginary place known as Birdwell Island, this flowery puppy has traveled to different sites including Versailles, France, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney. An impressive creation for its scale alone, Puppy by Jeff Koons is unlike his past urban sculptures. First of all, he uses natural materials and, secondly, his interpretation of a puppy is pretty head-on, which is an interesting contrast to his [glass balloon animal sculptures](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jeff-koons-cantor-metropolitan). This live-plant sculpture is one for the books. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 55% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Floral Sculpture Trend:** The rise of floral sculptures is an opportunity for horticulture and art industries to collaborate and create new, unique experiences. - **Large-scale Installation Trend:** The trend of installing large-scale artworks in public spaces creates opportunities for artists and architects to collaborate and add a new dimension to urban environments. - **Whimsical Art Trend:** There is a growing demand for unique, playful art installations like Puppy, creating opportunities for designers and artists to create immersive experiences that delight and inspire. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art Industry:** There is a high demand for innovative artists like Jeff Koons who can create whimsical, immersive experiences for public spaces. - **Horticulture Industry:** Collaborating with artists to create live-plant sculptures like Puppy creates opportunities for horticulture businesses to showcase their products and services in a new and unique way. - **Architecture Industry:** The trend of large-scale art installations in public spaces creates opportunities for architects to incorporate innovative art into their designs and add a new dimension to public spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Playful Balloon Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keff-joons.md) - [Balloon Dog Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balloon-dog-cake.md) - [Bow Tie-Wearing Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bow-tiewearing-sculpture.md) - [Outdoor Floral Sculpture Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptures-at-kew-gardens.md) - [Plush Flower Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cj-hendrys-flower-market.md) - [Folk Creature Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fibredog.md) - [Playful Pop Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/louis-vuitton-octopus.md) - [Rollable Bell-Shaped Dog Kennels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/poochchair.md) - [Temporary Public Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flower-market-20.md)
