The Puma Baton is a touchscreen MP3 player/[heart rate monitor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beats-powerbeats-pro-2)/GPS. The gadget was designed by Maynard Payumo to help runners track stats without having to carry around or clip-on multiple gadgets. Listening to music and monitoring distance are two things all avid runners do. Normally these things are taken care of by two different devices. The Puma Baton aims to change all of that. The device is touch-controlled and is shaped like a track baton. The MP3 player can be clipped to your clothing or held in your hand like an actual track baton. The music player is still a concept, but don’t be shocked to see this device or something with features like it on the market in the future, especially considering the glut of hybrid gadgets being developed. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 18% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Health](https://www.trendhunter.com/health) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **All-in-one Fitness Devices:** The trend of combining multiple fitness functionalities into one device, like the Puma Baton, provides convenience and efficiency for runners. - **Touchscreen Wearable Technology:** The rise of touchscreen technology in wearable devices, such as the Puma Baton, allows for intuitive and interactive user experiences during physical activities. - **Hybrid Gadgets:** The development of hybrid devices, like the Puma Baton, showcases the ongoing trend of combining multiple functionalities into a single, compact device. ### Who This Affects Most - **Sporting Goods:** The sporting goods industry can capitalize on the trend of all-in-one fitness devices, like the Puma Baton, by developing and marketing similar versatile products for runners and other fitness enthusiasts. - **Consumer Electronics:** The consumer electronics industry can take advantage of the rise of touchscreen wearable technology, like the Puma Baton, by incorporating touch controls and interactive interfaces into their wearable devices. - **Technological Innovation:** The trend of hybrid gadgets, like the Puma Baton, presents opportunities for technological innovation across industries, encouraging the development of new and improved functionalities in compact and multi-purpose devices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Active Portable Music Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/astellkern.md) - [Plogging-Friendly Sports Bands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eco-running.md) - [Modernized Portable Music Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tl1-music-player.md) - [Multifunctional Compact Music Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playdisc.md) - [AI Sports Training Headsets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mojawa-haptifit-terra.md) - [Active Audiophile Music Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/astellkern-p1.md) - [Trailblazing Sports Podcasts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/go-wild-podcast.md) - [Colorful Portable Music Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/music-players-1.md) - [Cassette-Inspired Music Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-audio-player.md)
