At first glance, the Pulse Pavilion looks like the unfinished framework of a public canopy. Yet the woven bamboo design offers a striking web-like facade that many would have been loath to cover up. The interior also boasts beautiful fabric panels that add a whimsical touch to the overall latticed design. It also provides some much needed shade for those who find themselves exploring the inside of the Pulse Pavilion.

Designed by third- and fourth-year undergraduate architecture students at the University of Saint Joseph in Macau, who were led by guest professors Kristof Crolla of Laboratory for Explorative Architecture & Design Ltd. and Dannes Kok, the Pulse Pavilion is quite the feat. A combination of advanced parametric software and traditional techniques were used to create it.
