This public charging station allows you to power your phone with pedestrian footsteps. Startup EnGo is combining solar power and kinetic energy to offer people a sustainable way to charge their smartphones.

In front of the [solar powered booth](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bluetti-handsfree-power-station) there are floor tiles that capture the energy generated from people walking on them. The public charging station can power up to 14 devices at a time (even if the sun isn't shining), making them perfect for urban areas. The cables it utilizes can be easily updated or swapped out all together, as can its [wireless charging pads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/picnic-uv) as technology advances. In addition to its innovative use of renewable energy, the station also offers free WiFi and has an emergency intercom system.
