# Pubic Hair Transplants Follicle Micrografting Adds Volume to Barren Bushlands By Katie Cordrey | Published 2009-07-15 | Naughty Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pubic-hair-transplants-micrografting References: [msnbc.msn](http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31836945/ns/health-skin_and_beauty/?ns=health-skin_and_beauty) There is hope for people without a naturally bushy bush: That hope is a pubic hair transplant. While [Brazilian wax](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fur-trim-system) may be popular with some, the lack of naturally-growing pubic hair is disturbing to others. In those cases, [micrograft technology](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/advanced-scalp-dermaroller) can provide a solution. A [thin strip of scalp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/custom-hair-growth) is harvested and the skin divided onto pieces that contain 1-3 hair bulbs each. The transplant area is prepared by making tiny receiving holes with a scalpel or laser. Natural pubic patterns are mimicked in order to give the recipient a pleasing result, hopefully with less vigorous growth than that of the models in above video of the pubic hair fashion show. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 71% | Activity: 98% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Naughty](https://www.trendhunter.com/naughty) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Pubic Hair Transplants:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop advanced micrograft technology to provide a more natural and less invasive solution for people seeking pubic hair transplants. - **Micrograft Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the use of micrograft technology in other areas of cosmetic surgery to provide more precise and customized results. - **Natural Pubic Patterns:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop techniques and tools to accurately mimic natural pubic hair patterns during pubic hair transplants for a more authentic and aesthetically pleasing outcome. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Cosmetic Surgery:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Discover new procedures and technologies to enhance the field of cosmetic surgery, catering to a broader range of aesthetic preferences and needs. - **Hair Restoration:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Expand the scope of hair restoration techniques to include pubic hair transplants, providing a solution for individuals with hair loss or specific aesthetic preferences. - **Medical Devices:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop specialized tools and devices for micrografting procedures, improving precision and efficiency in various types of surgeries. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Intimate Body Hair-Removing Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pubic-hair-skin.md) - [Body Hair-Centric Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fur-kits.md) - [Flora-Inspired Body Autonomy Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/full-bush-summer.md) - [Human Hair-Made Prosthetic Nipples](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prosthetic-nipples.md) - [Playful Body Hair Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/billie-chia-pet.md) - [Non-Invasive Hair Regrowth Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/laser-hair-growth-cap.md) - [Volume-Building Brow Gels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tinted-brow-gel.md) - [Supplemental Hair Removal Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/finishing-touch-flawless-bikini.md) - [Prescription Hair Loss Treatments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hair-me.md)
