The video game console has a fluid form factor that is focused on symmetry in contrast to the actual machine that will be hitting the market in Q4 of 2020. The system thus can be positioned upright or on its side to create two different looks that will match any environment seamlessly. Touguet spoke on the PS5 concept console saying, "I wanted to bring an organic touch by following the artistic direction initiated by the controller revealed a few months earlier but I wanted to keep the DNA of [PlayStation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playstation-portable) with a much more rational overall shape and directed towards its function." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 9% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/games) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Organic Gaming Consoles:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop gaming consoles with fluid and organic form factors to provide a unique and stylish gaming experience. - **Symmetrical Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create gaming consoles with symmetrical designs that offer flexibility in positioning, allowing for different looks and seamless integration into any environment. - **Artistic Direction in Gaming Consoles:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Infuse artistic elements into gaming console designs to enhance the overall aesthetic and user experience. ### Who This Affects Most - **Gaming Console Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Invest in manufacturing processes and design strategies to produce gaming consoles with organic and symmetrical features, aligned with the changing preferences of gamers. - **Aesthetic Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with artists and designers to bring artistic elements into gaming consoles, creating a visually appealing and immersive gaming experience. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with gaming console manufacturers to develop gaming consoles that blend seamlessly with various interior design styles, catering to the needs of aesthetically-conscious consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Angular Next-Gen Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playstation-6-concept.md) - [Industrial Next-Gen Console Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playstation-6-console-concept.md) - [Pro-Grade Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sony-playstation-5-pro-concept.md) - [Minimalist Next-Gen Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sony-playstation-6-concept.md) - [Powerful Portable Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playstation-5-handheld-gaming-console.md) - [VR-Focused Console Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playstation-5-pro-concept.md) - [Next-Gen Handheld Gamer Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playstation-portable.md) - [Industrial Translucent Gaming Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sony-game-controller.md) - [Handheld Gaming Console Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playfusion.md)
