# Protective VR Headset Cases WaterField Designs Adds a Foam-Lined Case for the Valve Steam Frame By Adam Harrie | Written with AI assistance | Published 2026-10-30 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/protective-vr-headset-cases References: [prnewswire](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/waterfield-designs-introduces-shield-case-for-steam-frame-vr-headset-and-accessories-302922653.html) WaterField Designs is adding a foam-lined [VR case](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightweight-vr-headset) for Valve 'Steam Frame' owners who want a dedicated way to carry the headset and accessories. The 'Shield Case' features a structured, fleece-lined shell and a separate padded insert that keeps the controllers separate from the headset and helps stabilize the load. The case also holds the included wireless adapter, and the main compartment leaves room for a power adapter, cables and smaller items. At 5 liters, it remains compact enough for home storage and travel, while waterproof zippers and firm [foam add protection](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nestout-gear-case) in transit. Because the Steam Frame ships without a [carrying case](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/belkin-charging-case-for-nintendo-switch-2), this accessory fills a practical gap in the launch ecosystem. It also turns a fragile-looking headset bundle into something easier to pack, which could make add-on cases a more expected purchase for VR owners.
