# Thermal Imaging Firefighting Drones The Conceptual Prophet Drone is Equipped with a FLIR Camera By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2021-07-30 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prophet-drone References: [yankodesign](https://www.yankodesign.com/2021/07/27/this-thermal-imaging-drone-could-help-firefighters-quickly-locate-the-source-of-fire-in-a-building/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+yankodesign+%28Yanko+Design+-+Form+Beyond+Function%29) & [mariuskindler](http://mariuskindler.com/) The conceptual Prophet Drone is a piece of advanced equipment for firefighters to help them effectively rescue those in need during an emergency, while also enabling them to pinpoint how to fight against flames. The drone maintains a compact design that is integrated with a [FLIR camera](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thermal-monocular1) that will effectively heat map an area to help operators pinpoint where they should focus their efforts. This could help [firefighters to combat against flames](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wildfire-management) in a more timely manner and effectively save those who might be trapped inside. The conceptual Prophet Drone is the design work of Marius Kindler who explained the solution further saying, "Equipped with FLIR‘s thermal imaging technology it monitors heat exposure and the fire‘s behaviour over time. Based on the gathered data it can identify anomalies and even predicts how the situation could develop in the near future. The system also makes it possible to link several drones together to a network, enabling all first responders to share their information, responsibilities and their equipment in a collaborative way during emergency incidents.” ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 51% | Activity: 27% | Freshness: 10% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/robots) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Thermal Imaging Drones:** The use of drones with thermal imaging technology allows for quicker and more efficient fire detection and response. - **Collaborative Emergency Technology:** Connecting drones to a network enables first responders to easily share information and equipment during emergency incidents. - **Artificial Intelligence and Predictive Analytics for Firefighting:** Using AI and predictive analytics to analyze data gathered by drones can lead to more accurate predictions of how a fire could develop in the near future and more efficient firefighting tactics. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Firefighting:** Adopting thermal imaging drones and AI-powered predictive analytics can revolutionize firefighting and save more lives. - **Drone Manufacturing:** Designing and manufacturing drones with integrated thermal imaging cameras can create new opportunities in the market for firefighting and emergency response agencies. - **Artificial Intelligence:** Developing AI and predictive analytics software specifically for firefighting and emergency response can provide valuable tools for first responders and help save lives. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Extreme-Heat Firefighting Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/firedrone-by-empa.md) - [Flame-Resistant Firefighting Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/firefighting-drones.md) - [Next-Gen Wildfire Rescue Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/firefly-x01-fire-rescue-drone.md) - [Levitating Firefighting Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/firefighting-robot.md) - [Blade-Free First Responder Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ems-drone.md) - [Safety-Enhancing Community Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-public-safety-drone.md) - [Autonomous Emergency Drone Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polestar-duo.md) - [Triple-Propeller Photography Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dji-hitop.md) - [Thermal Camera Fire Detectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/early-fire-detection-sensor.md)
