One of these fantastic [propane park benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-new-raw-1) is fire engine red and really resembles a pair of lips. Looking at it, it's hard to believe it was ever a propane tank at all. Another of Selig's incredible propane tank creations has a yellowish color to it and looks a lot like a set of large bunny ears. A few of these interesting [recycled seating creations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/objects-from-frames) still vaguely resemble propane tanks in a way, but they look amazing and make for a more interesting bench. These fantastic propane tank benches by sculptor Colin Selig are stunning, useful and cleverly designed. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 49% | Activity: 5% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Upcycled Furniture:** There is a growing trend of transforming everyday objects into functional and stylish furniture pieces, like sculptor Colin Selig's propane tank benches. - **Creative Recycling:** The use of unconventional materials for artistic and practical purposes, such as repurposing old propane tanks into eye-catching seating creations, is becoming popular. - **Sustainable Design:** Designers are increasingly focusing on creating environmentally friendly furniture and products, like the eco-conscious propane tank benches by Colin Selig. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** The furniture design industry can explore opportunities in upcycling and creative recycling to create unique and eco-friendly products. - **Art and Sculpture:** The art and sculpture industry can embrace the use of unconventional materials and techniques to create innovative and thought-provoking artworks, like Colin Selig's propane tank benches. - **Environmental Sustainability:** The environmental sustainability industry can promote and support designers and artists who incorporate recycled and repurposed materials in their creations, such as the propane tank benches by Colin Selig. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Public Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-public-seating.md) - [Sleek Public Seating Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leftover-bench.md) - [Bold Patterned Tubular Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leopard-bench.md) - [Recycled Resin Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cresta.md) - [Dual Sculpture Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immaterial-0001.md) - [Contemporary Upcycled Bright Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/remix-maison-1.md) - [Threshold Bench Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/torii.md) - [Recycled Dynamic Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bultan-chair.md) - [Industrial Wrapped Plywood Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/indoor-bench.md)
