In the Netherlands' suburb of Eindhoven, five [3D-printed concrete homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-tor-alva) make up the country's Project Milestone scheme. The project has become the country's first lived-in 3D-printed home. Its tenants received the key on April 30th, marking this momentous moment for Project Milestone.

With a boulder-like appearance, the concrete home gives off an industrial modern aesthetic. Designed by Durch architects Houben & Van Mierlo, its curved and sloped exterior walls were constructed through printing layers of stacked concrete to form 24 individual components. The printing process was done off-site, making this a [modularly constructed home](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drop-pod).

Floor-to-ceiling windows interrupt the concrete layers. One of the tenants, Elize Lutz, thinks of the design as a safe "[fairytale garden](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/volante)" house.
