It’s 2012 and thank goodness the world has not come to an end or close to that, wearing outfits that resemble Star Trek characters. The Google glasses may look a bit bizarre but its features are definitely bang-on. These sci-fiction-like shades can do just about anything a smartphone or tablet can do-without the use of your hands. With a voice command, users can instruct the glasses to schedule meetings, check the weather and find directions, which all pops up right infront of the eyes. The promo video shows a one-person view with a perception that mixes reality and the digital world. On command, the glasses can snap photos and store information about anything and will remind you about it. It acts as a music player, phone and even features video conference calls. Futuristic indeed. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.3/10 - Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Alpine Athlete Spy Goggles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/recon-mod-live-goggles.md) - [Frosty Search Engine Features](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/let-it-snow-google-easter-egg.md) - [Search Engine History Infographics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/when-larry-met-sergey.md) - [Digital Entertainment Meccas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/google-play.md) - [Internet-Savvy Eyewear (UPDATE)](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/google-projectglass.md) - [Internet-Inspired Sneakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumen-bigott-s-social-media-shoes.md) - [Search Engine Shades](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/futuristic-glasses.md) - [Search Engine Creativity Challenges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/google-search-caption-contest.md) - [Group Chat Goggles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/speakgoogle-g33-intercom.md)
