# Stop Motion Space Videos This Short Film Uses Every Photo From the Project Apollo Archive By Charlotte Joyce Kidd | Published 2015-10-13 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/project-apollo References: [laughingsquid](http://laughingsquid.com/filmmaker-combines-every-photo-from-the-nasa-apollo-mission-archive-into-a-stop-motion-style-video/) & [vimeo](https://vimeo.com/channels/staffpicks/141812811) Vimeo user 'Harrisonicus' was clicking through the recently released Project Apollo photos on Flickr when he realized that the rapid scrolling was creating a sort of rough animated vignette. He was curious about the idea, and decided to make a stop motion video combining every image from the Project Apollo archive. The result is this [stop motion animation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/image-to-video-ai2), which displays the beauty of the photographs taken on the Project Apollo missions. [NASA](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/john-carter) recently uploaded over 8,400 unedited scans of images from the [Project Apollo moon missions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/space-center-houston) to Flickr, where anyone can access and view them. Taking the photographs and making new works of art with them is a fascinating way to commemorate the historical missions of the 1960s and 70s, which are already indelibly marked on humanity's collective consciousness. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.6/10 - Popularity: 3% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Science](https://www.trendhunter.com/science) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Stop Motion Animation:** Leveraging stop motion animation techniques can create unique visual experiences using archived images. - **Digital Archiving:** The availability of vast digital archives opens up opportunities to repurpose and reinterpret historical content. - **Artistic Exploration:** Artists can find inspiration in historical archives and create new works that capture the essence of past events. ### Who This Affects Most - **Film and Animation:** Incorporating stop motion animation techniques can enhance storytelling and create captivating visuals in the film industry. - **Digital Media:** Utilizing digital archives can revolutionize content creation and curation in the digital media industry. - **Fine Arts:** The availability of historical archives provides opportunities for artists to explore new mediums and create unique works in the fine arts industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Retro Space-Themed Puzzled Posters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/john-carter.md) - [Rapid Photo Visualizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/life-minute-photos.md) - [Immersive Space Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beyond-the-light.md) - [AR Space Agency Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ar-nasa-app.md) - [Vintage-Inspired Eclipse Posters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-eclipse-poster.md) - [Multi-Lens Capture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moon-walker-multi-cam.md) - [Moon-Bound Architectural Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonhouse-project.md) - [First-Ever Outer Space Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selenian.md) - [Photo Animation Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/revivifyai.md)
