# Modular Privacy Partitions 'Veil' is an Adaptable Visual Partition That Lets Light Through By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2017-08-16 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/privacy-partition References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/veil-a-modular-privacy-partition-system-designed-by-box-clever/) & [bxclvr](http://bxclvr.com/veil) One of the challenges with installing a permanent or temporary [privacy partition](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calm-collection) in an interior space is that it can end up blocking out valuable sources of light—but this isn't an issue for Veil. Veil, a concept developed by Box Clever, stands apart as a [modular system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mespace-workstation) that makes it possible for one to customize the amount of light that should be filtered throughout a space. The system involves two components, an open piece and a closed piece, which can be snapped together to form a larger pattern. As such, one is able to configure the ABS plastic pieces to form large [mesh-like hanging partitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bilid). Veil is packaged in a set that includes 15 open pieces and 10 closed pieces, plus four hooks, although different arrangements may be made to tailor-fit one's space. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.8/10 - Popularity: 2% | Activity: 14% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Modular Privacy Partitioning:** Box Clever's Veil system offers a customizable partitioning system allowing less direct obstruction of natural lighting. - **Modular Hanging Partitions:** Veil's ABS plastic modules snap together, creating customizable mesh-like hanging partitions. - **Adaptable Privacy Partitions:** Veil's flexible design allows users to adjust coverage as needed while still maintaining an elegant aesthetic. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** Veil offers interior decorators a versatile and innovative solution to temporary and permanent spatial privacy needs. - **Office Space Solutions:** Veil's modular design offers businesses a functional and visually appealing alternative to traditional static and obstructive privacy solutions. - **Event Space Planning:** Veil's customizable mesh-like system gives event planners a practical and design-forward option for creating elegant and adaptive visual boundaries. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Flexible Room Partition Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/room-partition-system.md) - [Sculptural Room Screens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/morgen-screen.md) - [Contemporary Privacy Screen Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calm-system.md) - [Pleated Textile Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plissade.md) - [Modular Acoustic Screens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/harp-system.md) - [Felt-Made Retractable Room Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pixels-1.md) - [Material-Centric Room Divider Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ren-series.md) - [Perforated Facade Urban Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/veil-house.md) - [Work-Enhancing Partitioning Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/partitioning-system.md)
