Chicago architecture studio Jahn has used large steel trusses to create the [Pritzker Military Archives Center](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taichung-green-museumbrary) building. It is also defined by its use of a glass envelope with a structure that is backed by amphibious landing vehicles. The space is meant to support a wide array of functions, showcasing an exhibition of documents and other artifacts and the presentation from those in the [US military](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cast-iron-turntable).

The managing director of Jahn, Philip Castillo speaks to [Dezeen](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cold-war-museum-regan-vest) about the influence behind the design, sharing "Everything has some military inspiration. We really wanted a building that was rough and tough like a piece of military equipment. The welds on the trusses are not ground. The bolts are exposed."
