# Prism-Shaped Cheese Graters 'Prism Grater' Fits Over Top of a Tupperware Container By Ell Smith | Published 2017-07-05 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prism-grater References: [behance.net](https://www.behance.net/gallery/53277157/Joseph-Joseph-Prism-Grater?tracking_source=curated_galleries_list) & [josephjoseph](https://www.josephjoseph.com/en-rw/prism-4-in-1-grater) 'Prism Grater' is a modern twist on a classic design that's alleviating the annoyances of manually shredding cheese during meal preparation. The base of a traditional cheese grater is awkwardly shaped, difficult to balance on a plate, and results in a overflow of cheese when the object is lifted, due to the user not being able to see how much they're shredding. Prism grater is aptly shaped like a prism -- its square base comfortably fits on top of a [conventional Tupperware dish](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/placon-crystal-seal-delectables), offering the user the convenience of chopping directly into a cooking vessel, or, into a container used for storage until later use. The simple device comes equipped with [four different blade types](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sakura-petal-grater) to accommodate the various levels of density. Prism grater is an elegant solution for [cheese lovers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/granarolo-cheese-crisps) offering users an innovation of the everyday kitchen staple. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 61% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Kitchen](https://www.trendhunter.com/kitchen) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Modern Cheese Graters:** New, innovative designs of traditional cheese graters. - **Convenient Kitchen Tools:** Tools that enhance cooking experience and make meal prep more efficient. - **Multi-functional Kitchen Gadgets:** Tools that serve multiple purposes in the kitchen for the modern, busy lifestyle. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Kitchenware:** Innovative kitchen tools like the Prism Grater are disrupting traditional kitchenware designs. - **Home Storage Solutions:** The Prism Grater's compatibility with Tupperware containers is a disruptive innovation opportunity for home storage solutions. - **Food Delivery Services:** Multi-functional kitchen gadgets like the Prism Grater can enhance cooking experiences for busy customers of food delivery services. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Two-Sided Speed Graters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ograte.md) - [One-Touch Parmesan Graters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-cheese-grater.md) - [Mini Handheld Graters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/palm-grater.md) - [Miniature Handheld Graters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/irogami-grater.md) - [Stylish Kitchen Gadget Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/savor-series.md) - [Cheese-Shaped Charcuterie Boards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cheese-block-with-knife.md) - [Contemporary Pepper Grinder Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zjddg.md) - [High-Quality Kitchen Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/highquality-kitchen-tool.md) - [Hassle-Free Zester Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-series.md)
