As much as additive manufacturing technology has completely transformed the way footwear is made for consumers, there has been little exploration into the making of more than just [everyday shoes like sneakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/exoskyn) and heels—Materialise and Tailored Fits AG are hoping to change this by introducing 3D-printed boots for skiers.

Together, Materialise and Tailored Fits AG are set to launch what is being called "the first end-to-end digital supply chain for custom-fit, 3D-printed ski boots."

Although there are systems in place that help to mold different kinds of winter activity boots to the shape of one's foot, these new 3D-printed ski boots have the potential to transform the entirety of a product's fit, as well as how comfortable it feels on the foot.
