# Hollowed Wood Lighting Johannes Hemann Presents the Pressed Wood Black Collection By Jamie Danielle Munro | Published 2014-05-30 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pressed-wood-black References: [designboom](http://www.designboom.com/design/pressed-wood-black-johannes-hemann-05-30-2014/) & [johanneshemann](http://www.johanneshemann.com/) As someone who has an eye for making the most out of everyday objects, Johannes Hemann has transformed a piece of wood into a hollowed out lighting design with 'Pressed Wood Black.' The resulting illuminator is extremely distinct, however due to the dark aesthetic on the outside, most of the light is shining upwards instead of to the side. The collection would be ideal for those who like to take a few risks with interior designs, and perhaps the light would work well in a loft-style apartment. The wood gives the illuminator an industrial look, which usually works well in these types of abodes. Johannes Hemann certainly pushed the bounds with the 'Pressed Wood Black' collection, so hopefully buyers will appreciate this adventure and leap of faith in the interior design world.
