# Pregnant Belly Casting Decorated Bellies By karl burkart | Published 2008-09-04 | Life-Stages Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pregnancy-art References: [proudbody](http://www.proudbody.com) Now you can memorialize your perfectly pregnant belly through Pregnancy Art. In researching the trend of self-made body art (see also [male body casting](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/male-body-casting)) I found this amazing site that sells pregnant belly casting kits. It costs about $40 and takes about 30 minutes. You have to slather yourself up and then apply plaster. When it dries you sand it down and then paint it with the [pregnant belly painting kit](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customdesigned-painting-kit) (that’s an additional $20). Women who make their casts are asked to send in their art work. There are some truly spectacular creations—from celestial & butterfly themes, to totally abstract hippy-style artwork and even soccer ball bellies! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.2/10 - Popularity: 78% | Activity: 100% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Babies](https://www.trendhunter.com/babies) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Pregnancy Art:** Opportunity for artists and entrepreneurs to create and sell kits for pregnant belly casting and painting. - **Self-made Body Art:** Potential market for DIY body casting kits for various purposes beyond pregnancy, such as creating sculptures or commemorative pieces. - **Personalized Pregnancy Memorabilia:** Emerging demand for customized and unique products that capture the essence of pregnancy, offering opportunities for customizable belly casting and decorating services. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art Supplies:** Market for specialized belly casting and painting materials, catering to the growing trend of pregnancy art. - **Craft and Hobby:** Industry that can capitalize on the trend by providing DIY body casting and painting kits, enabling individuals to create their own personalized pregnancy memorabilia. - **Maternity Products:** Opportunity for maternity brands to incorporate belly casting and painting kits as part of their product offerings, providing a unique and sentimental experience for expecting mothers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Pregnancy-Friendly Fitness Equipment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bala-mama.md) - [Maternity Support Belts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/maternity-support-belts.md) - [Mother-Specific Self-Care Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selfcare-gift-kit.md) - [Pregnancy Support Tapes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pregnancy-spider-tape.md) - [AI Maternity Photoshoot Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/maternity-photoshoot.md) - [Expecting Mother-Themed Burgers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pregnancy-whopper.md) - [Customized Numeric Paintings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paint-by-numbers-customized.md) - [Prenatal Care Wearables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/morrama.md) - [Pregnancy-Specific Body Butters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bump-butter.md)
