# Propped Pyramidal Pillows The Prado Sofa Comes with Stable Movable Cushions as Adaptable Backrests By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-01-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prado-sofa References: [dezeen](http://www.dezeen.com/2014/01/22/prado-sofa-with-movable-cushions-by-christian-werner-for-ligne-roset/) & [christian-werner](http://www.christian-werner.com/index.php?id=292) If you furnish your lounge with a Prado Sofa, you are not restricted by the rigidly arranged backrests and armrests upon which the designer has decided; instead, you have the freedom to position them yourself. This [contemporary chesterfield](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reimagined-everyday-sofa) is essentially a flat mattress. It comes with a couple of separate cushions that can be moved around the surface according to your preference. The pillows are individually propped up thanks to metal frames inside, covered with plushy material, of course. Their stands swoop out to give them balance so that you can recline against them securely. Christian Werner designed two sizes of the Prado Sofa for Ligne Roset, with one as a two-seater and the other as a three-seater. They correspondingly come with a pair and a trio of upright bolsters to customize your couch. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 13% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Adaptable Furniture:** The Prado Sofa's movable cushions offer a disruptive innovation opportunity for adaptable furniture design. - **Customizable Home Decor:** The Prado Sofa's adjustable backrests provide a disruptive innovation opportunity for customizable home decor solutions. - **Modular Sofas:** The Prado Sofa's flexible design presents a disruptive innovation opportunity for modular sofa concepts. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** The Prado Sofa's innovative cushion design brings a disruptive innovation opportunity for the furniture design industry. - **Home Decor:** The Prado Sofa's adaptable backrests offer a disruptive innovation opportunity for the home decor industry to create customizable options. - **Interior Design:** The Prado Sofa's movable cushions present a disruptive innovation opportunity for the interior design industry to offer more flexible and modular furniture solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Enveloping Sofa Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perron-pillo.md) - [Cloud-Like Modular Sofa Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pillo-sofa.md) - [Ultra-Relaxed Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knoll-perron-pillo.md) - [Modern Moveable Backrest Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ds888-collina.md) - [Glossy Modular Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pillow-sofa.md) - [High-Back Embracing Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cozmo-hug.md) - [Rounded Modular Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smooth-sofa.md) - [Plush Sculptural Lounge Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rokko.md) - [Interchangeable Cushion Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/morfius-modular-furniture.md)
