Of all the buildings in the world, a park and ride is perhaps the most artificial, but P+R Driebergen-Ziest has managed to upend that idea through clever [naturalistic design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/office-national-des-forts). The building is covered in a series of blond wooden slats that encircle the vast majority of the facade, giving a light and airy feel to an otherwise utilitarian public building.

In both form and function, park and rides tend to be artificial. Firstly, they serve as spaces for holding cars, the technology most readily blamed for the modern discussions around climate change. Then, from a design perspective, most parking buildings make use of a [brutalist aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stroud-green-housing-centre), relying heavily on inexpensive materials like concrete. By using a [wood facade](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toyota-city-museum), P+R Driebergen-Ziest is a far more attractive building than otherwise.
