# Vertical Monitor Mods Linear Layout Screens Show a Portrait Computer Monitor By Renee Ramsarran | Published 2011-01-04 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portrait-computer-monitor References: [flickr](http://www.flickr.com/groups/lifehacker-workspace-showandtell/) & [portrait](http://www.portrait.com/enu/pivot/overview.html) A portrait computer monitor will add a twist to how you set up your workspace. Rotating your computer monitors to a portrait orientation is a great space saver, making it easier to view an entire webpage without scrolling or zooming out. Anyone who spends their time working with word processing documents, coding, or designing portrait-oriented layouts will appreciate a pivoting monitor. With entire Flickr accounts dedicated to this phenomena, I suggest considering a portrait computer monitor for yourself. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 70% | Activity: 73% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/computers) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Pivoting Monitors:** Opportunity to create and market monitors that can easily rotate between landscape and portrait orientations. - **Vertical Workspace:** Opportunity to design and develop workspace setups that optimize the use of vertical monitors. - **Enhanced Productivity:** Opportunity to explore how portrait computer monitors can improve productivity in specific tasks such as coding or designing layouts. ### Where This Applies - **Electronics:** Opportunity for electronics manufacturers to produce innovative portrait computer monitors. - **Workspace Design:** Opportunity for workspace designers to create ergonomic setups that accommodate vertical monitor configurations. - **Software Development:** Opportunity for software developers to create applications specifically optimized for usage on portrait computer monitors. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Moveable Freestanding PC Monitors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-smart-monitor-swing.md) - [Rotating Flexible Screen Monitors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bmr1-nearfield.md) - [Omni-Position Computer Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-libero-monitor.md) - [Extra-Wide External PC Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ultrawide-external-display.md) - [Triple Portable Monitors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/triple-portable-monitor.md) - [Flexible Removable Display Monitors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flux-multimonitor.md) - [Mobile Office Monitors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/viewsonic-vx1755-portable-monitor.md) - [Two-in-One Desktop Monitors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/philips-24b1d5600.md) - [Sleek Vertical Digital Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-witty.md)
