While smartphones, laptops and tablets tend to be the most popular forms of digital communication to-date, portable radios still remain vitally important devices -- especially in emergency situations. The ONEMI Radio is an ideal example of a flat-pack device design that is built for the sole purpose of transmitting broadcasting frequencies with a practical, yet modern, triangular shape.

The ONEMI Radio is a design put together by the Shackleton Group that provides unmonitored communication to regions that are prone to earthquakes, such as Chile. The device is engineered to allow for communication between the government to the population with an affordable radio built from cardboard. The simplistic materials allows the cost of the device to be affordable to all demographics, for use in emergency and crisis situations.
