Designer Omar I. Huerta Cardoso has infused it with a [fresh aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vintageinspired-technology-tech-brand-kickbacks-discman-is-nostalgic) to make it an asset in your home or in your office. The case of the concept device is made from smooth aluminum and finished in a powdery shade of blue, purple, green or silver. The face of the gadget is bright white and features a manual frequency dial and an [intriguing-looking speaker](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/audio-pro-t3-jepson-edition). The surfaces of both circles have been manipulated to assume undulating forms for ripple effects. To complete the perfectly peculiar appearance of this Portable Radio, the designer gave it a little handle in its bottom corner so that it stands curiously on a slant. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Popularity: 4% | Activity: 14% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Radio Revival:** Designing radios with unique, fresh aesthetics to make them assets in homes and offices - **Undulating Tech:** Manually manipulated undulating forms for ripple effects on tech devices - **Quirky Functionality:** Incorporating intriguing and functional handles into tech devices ### Sectors Adopting This - **Consumer Electronics:** Creating unique designs for traditional tech devices like radios to revive interest in them in the consumer electronics industry - **Home Decor:** Designing tech devices with aesthetics that complement home decor and serve as functional decor pieces in the home decor industry - **Office Supplies:** Developing quirky, slanted tech devices with handles that serve both function and aesthetic purposes in the office supplies industry ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Delightfully Playful Music Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anomalo.md) - [Tech-Infused Analog Radios](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-aesthetics-and-modern-technology.md) - [Fashion-Forward Audio Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luna-audio.md) - [Industrial Design Radio Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/radio-desk.md) - [Nostalgic Gaming Console Radios](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nintendo-radio.md) - [Modernized Retro Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-memory.md) - [Retrofuturistic Streaming Audio Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-streaming-audio-player.md) - [80s-Inspired 16-Bit Display Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/16bit-display.md) - [Aesthetically Pleasing CD Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-cd-player.md)
