# Convertible Portable Fans This Portable Mini Fan is Compact and Adjustable for Convenient Cooling By Amelia Roblin | Published 2018-09-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-mini-fan References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2018/09/03/keep-cool-with-this-cool-device/) & [behance.net](https://www.behance.net/gallery/68361437/Mi-mini-fan) We think of cooling mechanisms as big bulky devices, but consider this concept design for a portable mini fan. Short of having an [air conditioning unit](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ecoflow-wave-3) and the space for a desk top oscillating fan, a person could have access to his or her own localized breeze with a gadget that could pack flat and be set up just about anywhere. Tim Chen's Mi Mini Fan embraces a minimalist design, with the caged fan bordered by a white squared frame. A clever divide between the two halves of the square reveals a [folding capability](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/titanium-diy-folding-fan), enabling the portable mini fan to take a tented shape and be freestanding on any surface, from a table or a desk, to a windowsill. The fan also conceals a cord that enables it to be hung easily from a hook or a peg. This portable fan exemplifies the notion of reducing and simplifying a commonly larger product, in favor of offering convenience and efficiency. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 67% | Activity: 69% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Convertible-portable-mini-fans:** This trend of convertible portable mini fans offers the convenience of a portable fan with the functionality of a larger cooling device. - **Minimalist-designs-for-portable-fans:** The trend of minimalist designs for portable fans allows for compact and stylish cooling options. - **Efficient-compact-cooling-devices:** The trend of efficient compact cooling devices provides users with localized cooling solutions without the need for bulky cooling mechanisms. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Consumer-electronics:** The consumer electronics industry can tap into the trend of convertible portable mini fans to create innovative cooling appliances. - **Home-appliances:** The home appliances industry can explore minimalist designs for portable fans to offer sleek and space-saving cooling solutions. - **Interior-design:** The interior design industry can incorporate efficient compact cooling devices into their designs to offer functional and stylish cooling options for spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ultra-Flexible Portable Tiny Fans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-fans.md) - [Dress Shirt-Friendly Cooling Fans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-fan-ii.md) - [Lamp-Equipped Fan Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abode-gale-fan.md) - [Foldable Air Circulators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-circulator.md) - [Multipurpose Living Space Fans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-circulation-fan.md) - [Modern Compact Wooden Fans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fantastic-fan.md) - [Self-Covering Cooling Fans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clofan.md) - [Multipurpose Misting Fans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shark-flex-breeze-fan.md) - [Modern Folding Fans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiarmour-titanium-fan.md)
