# Portable Solar Abodes This Design by Mehdi Hidari Badie is Well-Traveled By Senduran Bhakthakumaran | Published 2012-04-08 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-home-by-mehdi-hidari-badie References: [electronicsexpo.blogspot](http://electronicsexpo.blogspot.ca/) & [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2012/04/05/amazing-modern-mobile-home/) Living out of your vehicle has been redefined thanks to the Portable Home by Mehdi Hidari Badie. This design would have Transformers jealous, as it literally reconstructs the back of a truck into a fully modern eco-home. It is made from steel, aluminum and recycled material, and even has a thermoplastic insulation system. Since all of this is packaged into a tidy [fold-out concept](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elo-concept), it is easily portable. The roof has several [solar panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hirondelle-tiny-house) that fold out when setting up the home, so it can always be running on, and storing solar energy. The home is for any person who wishes to have their humble abode join them on life's travels, or anyone else that would love to significantly reduce their [ecological footprint](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiny-house-of-wheels). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.8/10 - Popularity: 96% | Activity: 99% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) > [Eco Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/ecoarchitecture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Eco-friendly Portable Housing:** Opportunities for innovative, modular, and eco-friendly housing for travelers and remote workers. - **Solar-powered Mobile Homes:** Opportunities for developing efficient and cost-effective solar-powered homes on wheels. - **Transformable Sustainable Living Spaces:** Opportunities for creating multi-functional and transformable living spaces that are sustainable and portable. ### Where This Applies - **Automotive Industry:** Opportunities for collaborating with designers to create eco-friendly and modular solutions for vehicles or trailers. - **Renewable Energy Industry:** Opportunities for developing new solar-powered solutions for homes and vehicles. - **Tourism and Hospitality Industry:** Opportunities for providing alternative travel solutions and eco-tourism experiences with portable eco-housing. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Expandable Trailer Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pininfarina-foldable-trailer.md) - [Expanding Off-Grid Electric RVs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-transformer-house.md) - [Adventurous Compact Tiny Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pego.md) - [Office-Equipped Camper Vans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nomadic-office.md) - [Transportable AI-Powered Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-transformer-homes.md) - [Sustainable Solar-Powered Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-wanda.md) - [Powerful All-Electric Solar Trailers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/2024-hd-trailer.md) - [Refined Off-Grid Trailer Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/living-vehicle-gt39.md) - [Luxe Home-Like Travel Trailers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/living-vehicle-hd24.md)
