The awning consists of high-strength aluminum poles that support a 420D ripstop fabric, which will deliver protection from rain, sun and more. The unit can be attached onto almost anything including traditional camper vans, vehicles or trees thanks to the accompanying suction cups and carabiner clips that come with the awning. The 'MoonShade' Portable Awning weighs just eight pounds in total to allow users to easily collapse it down and store it anywhere without having to worry that it's too cumbersome or heavy for continuous use. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.5/10 - Popularity: 94% | Activity: 92% | Freshness: 9% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Portable Awning Accessories:** Opportunity to develop innovative aftermarket accessories that enhance convenience and functionality of portable awnings. - **Lightweight Camping Equipment:** Opportunity to create lightweight and compact camping equipment that is easy to transport and store. - **Versatile Outdoor Protective Gear:** Opportunity to design versatile and adaptable protective gear for outdoor activities that can be easily attached to different surfaces. ### Where This Applies - **Outdoor Recreation Equipment:** Disruptive innovation opportunities exist in the outdoor recreation equipment industry to develop new products that enhance the camping experience. - **Automotive Accessories:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the automotive accessories industry to create versatile and portable awning attachments for various vehicles. - **Textile Manufacturing:** Innovation opportunities exist in the textile manufacturing industry to develop durable and weather-resistant fabrics for portable awnings and outdoor gear. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modular Heavy-Duty Awning Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonshade-pro.md) - [Energy-Harvesting Camper Awnings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xponent-power-xpanse-awning.md) - [Screened-In Vehicle Awnings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kammok-crosswing-awning.md) - [Family-Friendly Camping Van Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/van-rooftop-tent.md) - [Platform-Supported Car Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vehiclemounted-tent.md) - [Cubic Car Camper Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carsule-portable-popup-tent.md) - [Universal Car Camper Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kammok-outpost.md) - [Rental-Compatible Camper Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/camper-kits.md) - [RV-Like Car Camper Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roofroomer.md)
