# Victorian Gothic Lighting These Porcelain Nightlights are Eeriely Antique By Chalaine Mantha | Published 2011-01-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/porcelain-nightlights References: [goreydetails.net](http://goreydetails.net/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=68&zenid=6jufomsg411fe7s1fq8mkjmqv3) These porcelain nightlights feature famous characters such as [Alice in Wonderland](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alices-adventures-collection) and Humpty Dumpty. The antique-looking lamps also come in a multitude of other pictures including butterflies, horses, flowers and cats. My favorite is the one featuring the [Cheshire Cat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fable-lantern). The porcelain nightlights come on a Victorian Gothic stand. The lamp is “based on the original candle lit frames that were used to display Lithophanes in the 19th Century.” This brass lamp gives you light and a history lesson! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.6/10 - Popularity: 8% | Activity: 1% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Antique Nightlights:** There is an opportunity for designers to create similar antique-looking nightlights with different images and themes. - **Lithophane Lamp Shades:** There is an opportunity for companies to introduce and popularize Lithophane Lamp Shades by using 3D printing technology. - **Gothic Decor:** There is an opportunity for designers to create gothic-themed home decor items with modern touches. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** Home decor companies can innovate by creating more antique-looking products that have a touch of modern functionality. - **Lighting:** Lighting design companies can explore Lithophane Lamp Shades and create new designs using the technology. - **Printing:** 3D printing companies can create lithophane lamp shades that can be customized for different themes and images. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Imaginative Mushroom Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/white-rabbit-england.md) - [Adorable Cartoon Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightweight-and-adorable.md) - [Gothic Wooden Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gothic-table-lamp.md) - [Spooky Interior Décors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-lamps.md) - [Quirky Common Item Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/table-lamp-lighter.md) - [Vintage-Inspired Candle Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vintageinspired-candle-lamps.md) - [Naturalistic Handmade Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/honey-lamp-collection.md) - [Mushroom-Inspired Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/humble-lights.md) - [Scenic Architecture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/architecture-inspired-table-lamp.md)
