# Popsicle Stick Pendant Lights Arba by Belux Combines Modern Design and Childhood Crafts By Jessica Marcel | Published 2009-09-18 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/popsicle-pendant-lights-arba-belux References: [dailytonic](http://www.dailytonic.com/arba-by-matteo-thun-and-antonio-rodriguez-for-belux/) & [architonic](http://www.architonic.com/cat/1/3100021/1) Switzerland-based Belux presents the new Arba lamp design by Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez. While modern design is always striking, this lamp shares a vague resemblance with a craft project I once made at summer camp... Just kidding. I never went to summer camp. The [sweet treat inspired design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gelato-lamp) of the Arba [floorlamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-balloon-lamp) works here. It’s modern, simple yet intricate... and the red cable extending from the lamp adds a purposeful touch of haphazardness. But buyer beware, this modern design may cause unexpected trips to the freezer. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 12% | Activity: 45% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Craft-inspired Lighting:** Craft-inspired lighting designs offer a nostalgic and unique aesthetic to modern spaces. - **Mixing Minimalism and Playfulness:** The combination of minimalistic design with playful elements adds a whimsical twist to contemporary products. - **Purposeful Imperfections:** Introducing intentional imperfections into product design can create a sense of authenticity and uniqueness. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Lighting Design:** The lighting design industry can tap into the growing demand for craft-inspired and playful lighting solutions. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can explore opportunities in integrating purposefully imperfect designs into their product offerings. - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers can incorporate craft-inspired elements into their minimalist designs to create visually interesting and distinctive pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Organically Fluid Lighting Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pop-collection.md) - [Maximalist Arched Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oblure.md) - [Ice Cream-Resembling Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-serve-lamp.md) - [Childhood-Inspired Magnetic Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbe.md) - [Geometric Nostalgic Night Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handmaid-table-lamp.md) - [Colorful 3D-Printed Portable Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-soft-serve-lamp.md) - [Recycled Paper Pulp Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-lamp1.md) - [Umbrella-Inspired Whimsical Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wasaga-lamp.md) - [Mouth-Blown Glass Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grid-pendant-light.md)
