Cargo is a pop up bar that is built inside old shipping containers. The temporary lounge is located in the heart of Christchurch, New Zealand and was opened as a result of the town's devastating earthquake.

The pop up bar's owner Henare Akuhata-Brown was among countless others who lost their homes and businesses during the natural disaster. Finding opportunity in crisis, the bar owner built this [temporary shipping container lounge](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tray-pods) and appropriately named the space Cargo after its cargo container structures.

Cargo Bar has become a Christchurch hot spot for local residents and is a place that is designed with its region's unpredictable weather and earthquakes in mind. The sustainable bar re-purposes discarded shipping containers and transforms them into a communal space.
