The Pool Table and the Jacuzzi Table prominently feature pool noodles like columns, which hold up the [acrylic tops of the tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/draga-aurel). Thanks to the nature of the clear material, it plays with light and shadow effects, casting water-like shapes on the floor beneath. Rather than boasting conventional geometric tabletop shapes, the tables mimic the design of irregularly shaped pools, as well as the free-flowing natural movement of water. The [unconventional table designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nami) are completed with caps at the bottoms of the pool noodles to create a sturdy support system for the tables, which are sure to be the focal point of any room. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 55% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Quirky Furniture Designs:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create furniture designs that use unconventional materials to create visually striking and unique pieces. - **Structural Integration:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore innovative ways to incorporate structural elements into furniture designs for added functionality and visual appeal. - **Playful Aesthetic:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop furniture designs that evoke a sense of playfulness and whimsy, appealing to consumers looking for unique and unconventional home decor. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate unconventional materials and designs into traditional furniture manufacturing processes. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with furniture designers to incorporate unconventional pieces into interior design schemes. - **Home Decor Retail:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Curate collections of unique and visually striking furniture pieces to cater to consumers seeking unconventional home decor options. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Pasta-Inspired Inflatable Pool Noodles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pastainspired-inflatable-pool-noodle.md) - [Playful Wavy Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wavy-table-design.md) - [Playful Vibrant Modern Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yonder-collection.md) - [Acrylic Multicolor Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lucid-side-tables.md) - [Playful Toy-Like Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frunchroom-furniture-collection.md) - [Geometric Cutout Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/designated-table.md) - [Artful Table Tennis Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nedj-ping-pong-tables.md) - [Playful Casual Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uchronia-wave.md) - [Unconventional Outdoor Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-joy-furniture.md)
